Merry Christmas!

Hi Friends and Family!
We hope you all enjoyed your Christmas!

The Schommer Clan had such a blast with Lucas' very first Christmas. It of course was manic (we were prepared for that), with all the parties and running from here to there. It was a different experience for us this year though with our little one...Scott and I were both so excited to be able to celebrate this wonderful season as a family. YEAH.

We started the festivities off with a low key Schommer Christmas gathering at our house. We were able to spend some quiet, quality time before the made party rush. It was so nice to have the family here and it was awesome to watch the cousins interact with one another. It was a musical Christmas for the Schommer Clan this year, and the kids jammed out with their new instruments. The boys received bright red pianos and Alex a blue electric guitar from Grandpa Don and Grandma Barb - it was a less than tuneful afternoon, but the music was hoppin. The best part of our day was watching Lucas feeding Nathan cheerios from the floor, while Nathan patiently waited in his high chair for his next treat! It was sooo sweet.

We followed that party off with our own family Christmas morning... I think Scott and I awoke excited to start the festivities while Lucas was not quite as hip to the scene. We took a long pause to look at the tree and the presents, Lucas was either trying to take it all in or was thinking - What the heck is all this junk.?! Once we got going he slowly got the hang of it... although not unlike any other infant, he was really into the paper and boxes. He actually sat for a long time slowly shredding a large piece of tissue into itty bitty teeny weeny pieces of nothing. So we'll now be looking forward to contrasting this years reaction with next!!

The next party location was my parents place for a Christmas morning present opening bonanza with Grandma, Grandpa and Uncles David and Garrett! To finish off our musical holiday and to complete our band - Uncle Garrett got an acoustic guitar!

I will continue our Christmas hootenanny update later, I am so far behind in writing that we are already at Lucas's birthday!! So look for his birthday post and a continuation of our Christmas post in the very near future!

Thanks for reading!
Love you all
The Schommer Clan.
